Infertility

Consultant-led assessment and treatment planning with Mr Syed Ali Shahzad, Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon.

Infertility Assessment in Birmingham

Infertility affects approximately 1 in 7 couples in the UK. A male factor is identified in up to 50% of cases. Mr Syed Ali Shahzad, Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon, provides urological assessment and management of male infertility at private hospitals across Birmingham, working alongside fertility specialists to provide a comprehensive approach to couples experiencing difficulty conceiving.

For detailed information on male infertility specifically, including sperm analysis, causes and surgical options, please see our male infertility page.

When to Seek Help

A couple should seek assessment if they have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success (or 6 months if the woman is over 35). Early assessment of both partners is recommended, as simultaneous investigation reduces the time to diagnosis and treatment.

Female Factors

Female causes of infertility include ovulatory disorders, tubal blockage, endometriosis and uterine abnormalities. Mr Shahzad works collaboratively with gynaecology and fertility colleagues to ensure a comprehensive workup for both partners.
