“I was on the NHS waiting list for a robotic pyeloplasty, and was getting discouraged by the length of the wait. I had a particular time-frame as I wanted to be recovered from the surgery before the due date of my 2nd grandchild in order to be able to help my son and daughter-in-law. I was given an appointment with Mr Shahzad and travelled to The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham to meet him. Mr Shahzad was highly professional, kind, and attentive in his manner. He went to a lot of trouble to accommodate my desired time-scale, and I was booked in for surgery within a couple of weeks. He came to see me in my room several times during the course of my hospital stay, as well as successfully performing the surgery. He was a great help to me at this particularly stressful time and I really couldn't have asked for more from him. He explained everything I needed to know and answered my questions in a way that put my mind at rest, and made me feel very much more at ease. I am now recovering at home and feel immense gratitude to Mr Shahzad for everything he did for me, accommodating my preference regarding timescale, and giving me the best possible care all through the process.
