Suggested starting point
Raised PSA or prostate concerns
A raised PSA result needs context, including age, prostate size, symptoms, infection risk, medicines and family history.
What this may involve
- Review of PSA level, previous results and timing of the test
- Discussion of urinary symptoms, family history and infection symptoms
- Urine testing, examination and repeat PSA where appropriate
- MRI prostate and biopsy discussion if clinically indicated
What to bring if you have it
- Your PSA result with the date it was taken
- Any previous prostate MRI, biopsy or clinic letters
- A list of medication, including blood thinners
