Robotic pyeloplasty
“I was on the NHS waiting list for a robotic pyeloplasty, and was getting discouraged by the length of the wait. I had a particular time-frame as I wanted to be recovered from the surgery before the due date of my 2nd grandchild in order to be able to help my son and daughter-in-law. I was given an appointment with Mr Shahzad and travelled to The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham to meet him. Mr Shahzad was highly professional, kind, and attentive in his manner. He went to a lot of trouble to accommodate my desired time-scale, and I was booked in for surgery within a couple of weeks. He came to see me in my room several times during the course of my hospital stay, as well as successfully performing the surgery. He was a great help to me at this particularly stressful time and I really couldn't have asked for more from him. He explained everything I needed to know and answered my questions in a way that put my mind at rest, and made me feel very much more at ease. I am now recovering at home and feel immense gratitude to Mr Shahzad for everything he did for me, accommodating my preference regarding timescale, and giving me the best possible care all through the process. I am entirely happy with the service I received.”

Having had bladder stones removed two years ago on the NHS they had returned with vengeance! I had a private relaxed and informative consultation with Mr Shahzad who told me that they had most likely reformed as my urethra was narrowed by an enlarged prostate. We agreed that as well as laser shattering the stones I would have TURP surgery to reduce my prostate. Waiting time was a few weeks, compared to around a year on the NHS. The procedure entailed day case surgery and sending home with a catheter. Mr Shahzad and the team at Harborne Hospital were reassuring and caring. A few weeks later and my life has changed totally, no more dashing to the loo or getting up half a dozen times in the night. No more stones related pain!! Don’t suffer longer than you need to guys, get yourself booked in with Mr Shahzad and let him change your life too.
